WILL MY INSURANCE COVER MY VISIT?
We suggest you call your insurance to verify if your visit is covered. All Insurance plans are not created the same. There is much confusion on how to pay for office visits and procedures. Patients usually have a deductible that must be met before the insurance covers any visits or procedures. Keep in mind that your insurance is a contract between yourself and the company. Become familiar with your benefits.
WILL MY COLONOSCOPY BE COVERED?
Most insurance companies cover the full cost of a screening colonoscopy. However, the diagnosis of "Screening" is only applicable if you are over the age of 50 (45 for African American), and you have no other diagnosis like rectal bleeding, diarrhea, constipation etc. Please be sure to inform the representative from the insurance company of your age and diagnosis when inquiring what your costs for a colonoscopy will be. All endoscopies and flexible sigmoidoscopies are diagnostic, not screening.
